The Cliffs Communities, nestling at the foot of The Blue Ridge Mountains between North and South Carolina, offers the highest standards of luxury living combined with wonderful golf courses. The Cliffs at High Carolina will soon be home to the first Tiger Woods’ designed golf course in the USA. Five separate areas offer a variety of awe-inspiring landscapes, and “soon to be eight” Championship golf courses.
Walnut Cove (designed by Jack Nicklaus) is situated in 1500 acres with dense forests, rolling meadows and clear streams.
Mountain Parks, criss-crossed by the Saluda River, is scheduled for completion in 2008. It has been designed by Gary Player who is moving his family and corporate H.Q. to The Cliffs. Mountain Park will be his home course in America.
Keowee Springs (designed by Tom Fazio) is a family friendly course, but a challenging and rewarding experience for golfers of all ages and abilities.
Keowee Vinyards is the other Tom Fazio course at The Cliffs and offers breathtaking views. Eight holes are directly on the lakeside.
Keowee Falls is the second Jack Nicklaus signature course, featuring a rolling mountain terrain and amazing views. The design was careful to preserve key natural features such as the The Falls Creek Waterfall.
Valley Course (designed by Ben Wright) is a parkland-style course, surrounded by acres of forest.
Glassy Course (designed by Tom Jackson) is located on top of a 3000ft plateau on Glassy Mountain. It is a beautiful course with impeccably manicured bent grass tees, greens and fairways, and spectacular views.
Director of Golf Course Maintenance at The Cliffs is Mike Harbin. With discerning residents and keen golfers to please, he has a challenging and responsible job. It is important to him to invest in effective, reliable machinery to keep all the courses in pristine condition.
With the different terrains and soil types, versatile machinery is also essential.
